Beethoven: Trios & Transformations

Join pianist Coady Green, clarinettist Bailey Hume and cellist Yijin Choi for two of Beethoven's enduring virtuosic masterworks. Beethoven's Trio Opus 11 for clarinet, cello and piano catches the young composer at his most charming and mischievous, a work of sparkling conversation, quicksilver mood changes and irrepressible wit, culminating in a set of variations on a tune so popular in Vienna that Beethoven’s contemporaries would have recognised it instantly. And in the Trio for clarinet, cello and piano Opus 38, Beethoven’s takes his spectacularly successful Septet, Op. 20 and performs an ingenious act of musical compression, preserving its wit, warmth and exuberance while turning public entertainment into intimate chamber music. Join these three renowned musicians for two of Beethoven's dazzling ensemble pieces.

Clara and Robert Schumann - Letters in Sound

Join us for an afternoon showcasing three of Australia's finest classical talents. Fourteen-year-old pianist Stefania Robu has already achieved AMEB AMusA and LMusA diplomas with Distinction, appeared as concerto soloist with Sydney Youth Orchestra, featured on ABC TV's The Piano, and won a double Grand Prize at the Brooklyn Music Teachers' Guild Intercontinental Competition, leading to performances at Carnegie Hall and The National Opera Center. She's joined by acclaimed pianist Coady Green, who has performed in over 25 countries at venues including Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall and the Sydney Opera House, and violinist Elizabeth Xue, a Carnegie Hall performer and Grand Prize winner across multiple international competitions.

Join the Fourwood Guitar Quartet for an afternoon celebrating the music of Australian composer and guitarist Damien McCluskey. Featuring an all-McCluskey program, this concert showcases the breadth of his distinctive compositional voice, from intimate lyricism to vibrant rhythmic energy. Recently awarded a grant from the Grainger Museum, McCluskey has composed a major new suite for guitar quartet inspired by the life and works of Percy Grainger, reflecting his ongoing commitment to creating innovative and engaging repertoire for the guitar. Performed by one of Australia's leading guitar ensembles, this concert offers a unique opportunity to experience an entire program dedicated to a living Australian composer.

Women's Voices in Piano Trios

Melbourne-based pianist Charlotte Roberts is joined by radiant violinist Rianah McInnes and dynamic cellist Aylish Jorgensen for an afternoon celebrating the remarkable voices of women in chamber music. The program features Louise Farrenc's spirited Piano Trio No. 1 in E-flat Major, Op. 33, alongside two masterpieces by Clara Schumann: her expressive Variations on a Theme by Robert Schumann, Op. 20 and the passionate Piano Trio in G minor, Op. 17. Completing the program is Aftermath by Australian composer Emily Sheppard, bringing a contemporary perspective to this rich and compelling musical journey.
